The Society was founded in
1951 by a group of Laundry Managers who thought it would be a good idea to
meet on a regular basis for the exchange of information. Fifty years later
and our Society is a thriving, professional association, which has gained
the respect of all those associated with the laundry / linen services /
textile industry.
We offer training for all
those involved with Healthcare linen services either by regionally held
courses,
one
to one events or our annual national conference. Many Trusts and Health
Boards have used the Society’s trained personnel to assist in their
development or rationalisation of in-house or shared services.
We have a democratically elected
National Executive Council (NEC) which is made up of nine regionally
elected representatives, four National officers and a President. All are
committed to achieving a common goal of promoting the status of Linen
Service management within the Health Service as well as acting as a focal
point for any relevant issues.
